b16a swap
Hey im looking into doing a b16a swap in my 98 dx hatch. I was wondering what do i need for a swap, what kinds of problems may come up etc. Also the swap probly will be b16a1 added on to a hydro tranny.

b16 iz too old...swap in a USDM b16a2 SIR or a GSR which iz even better for ur lil car if you have the $$$$
or jus get a 98 Si engine and turbo it cheap and easy and more power than both the SIR and GSR

Well take it from me you definetly don't want a first Gen B16a .. Go with a B16A2 (USDM) not from Japan. Basically you want the same engine as the SIR's here in Canada. I did a JDM B16A and yes the engine is older, but even though its illegal those guys don't check the year of the engine anyway cause my engine is exactly the same as 96+ B16A other then a small date stamp on the block. But for Sure go USDM w/ OBDII. That's what I was supposed to get originally and I got screwed (Long Story) So unless you wanna be paying out of your **** for extra work like, exhaust work, ECU Harness, AC mount, Custom A/C lines, New Intake because your stock air box won't work, and I'm sure there is more!

yeah get yourself a same year or newer b series motor. Not that you can't install an older model engine, hell I installed a 1990 b16 in a 96 civic. **** load of stuff to change but possible. might work out to be the same money cause your paying less than what a gen 2 engine would cost. Still need axles, still need exhaust work done, still may need some mount brackets depending what year engine you buy
