i ran a stock b16a, bigger injectors, and zeeman tuned it. ran 8lbs of boost for a full season, no problems!!!!! it's all about the tune. had a lot of fun with it.

but

early warning!!!

BOOST IS ADDICTIVE.

this year i did a engine build (zeeman, again) and gonna be tuning HOPEFULLY soon! 18lbs of boost...yummy!

beware of the boost bug ...you'll always be left wanting more.

Dont set boost goals set power goals
you can buy ALOT of turbos to make a boost goal but that turbo could make **** for power. you cant buy parts for boost ratings...never seen a clutch or axles rated for 18-20lbs?? see where im getting at?
thats cause boost can alost be considered an arbitrary #,WRT different turbos.
300 on a stock block is do able, sure your reliability factor isnt going to be the best but as long as the setup is solid and the tune is spot on then you should have to worry.
and $3k is a decent budjet

I don't know once you get past 230-250 whp 1st is useless 2nd almost useless etc adn so on...300 whp 3rd is almost useless on street tires. this is why I went awd to actually put the power down to the ground

b16 have been known to take 300 whp but 260-270 no problem with a nice sized turbo that will breathe at high rpm's and have abit of lag to help traction.

man, even on sub-200whp n/a cars 1st and 2nd can be useless.
A turbo honda making 250whp on street tires will spin like a **** in most of the gears. Hell my buddy's turbo LS (making 255whp at 13psi on a very simple setup) spins the **** out of 5th gear on the highway as soon as it makes anything over 10psi of boost.

But like i told nicotine before he ever boosted his car and he is telling you know (from firsthand experience) BOOST IS ADDICTIVE!!!!! Sure you only want to run low boost now, but as soon as you get a taste of boost and bored of how fast your car is on low boost, you'll want to run more boost and probably build your engine to handle serious boost.....right Ron?...lol.

My car on 4psi (which it probably isn't even making 250whp on a very conservative street tune...high compression b16, gotta play it safe until i can afford some dyno time) spins the **** out of 1st and 2nd gear.

lol, well I was actually thinkin of replacing the tranny with a GSR tranny(longer gears right?) 4000rpm @ 120km/h is bad for daily driving IMO

what would a GSR be at or even a GS/LS?

can K series tranny with 6speed have be modded for b series motors :P?

GSR tranny isn't too much different....you'll be at like 3700rpm @ 120km/hr.
I like the LS tranny for boost, but a lot of people don't like them b/c its not a super close ratio tranny like the b16 or GSR.
