lately when i drive my car, i think my transmission makes a high pitch whining sound, not loud but noticeable...sounds like a spinning sound. i'm almost certain it's coming from the tranny cause when i clutch it goes away. maybe tranny fluid?

open it up, inspect throw out bearing along with input shaft bearing.

I will put money on a throw out bearing, how many K are on the tranny?

Does it do it sitting still in neutral or in gear moving?

Check your tranny fluid level.

gear selector is another possibility. somthing is grinding in the tranny so get it checked.
