B16 swap

you won't get a ticket if all the emissions control equipment is properly installed and functional.
besides, for emissions, there is a category of testing called "hot rods" which your car would then fall under.

hot rod testing was an added bonus of my swap! I was real scared of not passing until i found that out. I agree with punk though, i hope my insurance company never ever ever ever ever ever finds out about my swap cuz they would drop me for sure!

I thought some Ins. companies need to kno the displacement of the motor that the vehicles came with. if ur car came with an option of 1.6 1.5 liters and u they find out u have a 2.2 liter! they are gonna now somethings up. Plus like it was stated above
"aslong as all the emissions control equipment is properly installed and functional."

so if you lets say put a b18 in it would be considered as a hot rod
because that never came in a civic.
this from the emissions trainer that i spoke to when i was taking my test.
anybody disagree.

the rule for a hot rod is this if you have a motor that never came in that car or it is a kit car it will be deamed as a hod rod and b16 does come in a civic so there for it is still considered stock.
