B16 =>what kind of fuel?

B16 =>what kind of fuel?

hey, what kind of feul do i need to use for my b16a2. I've been fillin up premium (91) ever since i got it, just gettin really expensive so jus wondering if its neccessary

91 is what the owners manual recommend for a 99-00 SIR (b16).
91 octane is only $0.10/liter more, so thats really only $4 more a tank than regular gas.

94 is stupid when its not needed. if it wont detonate on 91 why waste your money on 94? dont make a statement if you dont know what you are talking about.

what if you been running it at reg 87? is that gonna fubar my motor, is there any way i can change to 91?

you've been running your b16 on 87?
Just start putting 91 in there, its not like you need to change anything to start using premium gas.

well with a compression ratio of 9:1 i wouldn't be too worried about using premium. But who knows what your ignition maps look like and how aggressive the timing is, i would run 91 just to be safe. Like i said before its only $4-5 more a tank to fill up with 91.

just start putting in 91 as of now. if you are at half put in 94 and fill it then next fill run 91
