b series tranny work with d series engine?

i have a cheap offer for a b16 tranny just wondering if itll work with my engine and make it any faster or shorter gears for quicker acceleration. hopefully it will direct bolt on because that way i can upgrade my flywheel and clutch at the same time. thanks for your input

no it will not

I know a guy who's making adapter plates for it to work but imo not worth it.

get an SI tranny (thats the best of the d-series trannys) and upgrade your clutch/flywheel at the same time.

Direct bolt on, no. But adaptor plate is the solution.

Get a Y8 tranny, not as short as B16, but pretty decent for D series.

^^ charles it seems like he drives an EF, so y8 tranny would be a big no-no

i was just told that my tranny is holding me back so i thought i better scrap it for something better, im still deciding which engine to swap in so i might not bother still thinking, i have enough for a b16 swap just barely so that might be my best bet for some quick power.

the stock lsd d series tranny still blows big dick. the ratio is still like 65/35. you're better off doing the half shaft mod on the car. but yeah b series tranny is doable but you might as well as put a fd in.

For an 92-00 civic, i'd agree, but i believe he's got a EF so he can't use a hydro tranny. Hence, why i suggested a SI tranny. I've also heard (don't know from first hand experience) that the ZC (dohc) tranny had nice short gears as well.

not everyone has a machine shop at their disposal, not to mention fabbing skills.

What mounts did you have to use for that hydro tranny to work in your EF steve? Was this a b or d-series?
