B-series engines???

Hey guys sup.
I have a question for you guys.
I know that the h series engines are really a pain in the *** to get in the civics and you need some crazy money for the installation itself.
Now my question is are the B-series engines a bolt on type install or am i lookin at crazy installation rates and lots of mods to the mounts etc aswell???

One more thing which would be the best 'ULTIMATE' B-series engine and i mean like with like a different head etc...

B18C5 (Integra TypeR) is the ultimate B series engine as it sits.

But if you sere gonna build one a B20 block with a B16 head would be the way to go, the best of both worlds, displacement and high revving VTEC.

So lets say i do this setup what ecu would i be using? since the head and block are different? Also are they bolt on type or will they need to be custom fitted to match? And how much would a setup liek this run for about?

Anyone got anyspecs on how much torque, hp etc it gives out?

a wild setup on a b20vtec can cost a good $10,000. Mildly, I think you'd be looking at around at least $7000

The ecu you will be using will definetely be a custom one, but it will be for a B16 with better fuel maps, as for custom fitting? I'm not sure what you quite mean by that, but as far as b20vtec goes, alot of machining and balancing needs to be done to the block before it starts running (at least for complete reliability sake).

what exactly do you mean when you say a wild set up?
also which b20 are we talking about? the b20b? or b20z?
also what i meant by custom work is will the head and the block fit perfectly or will there be work needed ot it to be sittin in perfectly?
also does this include the tranny aswell? if so from which car?

head and block will mate fine, but you will need to do additional things to make the vtec work properly etc.

wild meaning, big cams like stage 3 type and upgraded valvetrain with high compression pistons (provided you're going N/A).

tranny will depend on what application you're going e.g. NA or FI

Well Forced Induction sounds really tempting but i wanna go n/a first and then probably wehn i get some flow eventually after the whole swap is done.

But lets say i dont want to tune it or anything just yet. I just want the head and block mated and thats all and run stock for now. How much would i be expecting? Also will i have to run on a higher octane or can regular just be fine?
Also what tranny should be used for NA cars and FI cars and why?

if you're really building a franky, you really should do everything all at once. I mean if you can hold back now, you can hold longer to build your motor, it'll be cheaper in the long run (unless you do all the work yourself). As for gas, any dohc vtec I think most people would recommend a minimum of 92 octane. I guess you could go 91, but that's kinda pushing it.

regardless of going wild or not, it's really recommended that you build the b20vtec with extreme reliability in mind Even then, it'll cost quite wad of money, exact amounts I'm not sure.

Talk to any of our affiliates about pricing, HTH.

One more question

b18c5 vs. franky
both stock (for this example)
who would win?
also wat are the specs on it? like hp/torque etc...

umm...I dun know everything, I wish I did

I'm just telling you what I've learnt from reading

I wouldn't even be able to say what a 'stock' franky would be hahaha

For one thing, you could have a LS/VTEC franky or a B20vtec franky But since you're talking mainly about the B20 setup, I'd guess the B20 would win just because there is more displacement

But that's really a pure guess though

I can't give you a hp/tq number on the franky really because I don't know how much it would make B18C or B18C5 would be 210(or is that 200) and 195 respectively
