i use 91 in my built b16 (11.5:1 CR, stage 2 cams, headwork) and i get about 425-450kms to a tank.
Honda recommends nothing lower than 91 for the 99-00 SIR (b16).

Really? I can get 500 with normal driving in my 2000 SiR, perhaps its time for a tune up.

94octane.. 400km ... thats if i pop vtec (in all gears) twice a month and stay below 4000rpms... if i dont... 200 a tank...

but if i were you i would suck it up and pay the money for the cleaner burn... besides its better for your motor

perhaps he drives properly and not conventionally (or makes more power than you)..... when i say that i mean, the way the allows one to enjoy their whip regularly. i use 94 and get 410-435 per tank...driving a way that allows me to enjoy the experience, daily. if i baby my car, i can get over 500, but, with little to no enjoyment. i modded my whip to satisfy myself, and don't really care about gas mileage at all. its all relative, man.

I can picture half the people watching their gas gauge and tach more than the road, trying to squeeze out every last K out of the tank.

wow...really?!?!?
U need to find some time to come out here for some more tuning....and to pick up that IM gasket. U know my schedule and i understand that your family comes first...but damn....220kms to basically a tank the size of mine is garbage. But i can think of another factor thats prolly contributing to you're low mileage
