Autometer Gauges
Heys guys, i have a autometer boost gauge, ive been having problems with the car boosting higher then its suppose to, i havent hooked it up to a tuning computer yet to see exacly what its boosting at, but the gauge is reading like 13psi, but it was only boosting at like 10-11ps before, and just staring boosting higher for some reason, i was searching on the internet and came across alot of guys bashing autometer gauges, saying they were defective, dont read properly, saying there garbage, etc. I was under the impression that these were good gauges, anyone have any suggestions, or input , it would be appreciated

its called boost creep. check your boost controller... also you can hook up a really cheap mechanical PSI gauge you can possibly get from like an air compressor supply place. run a section of vacuum hose up on top of your hood and put the gauge under your windshield wiper and zip tie it so you can see it while driving... check to see that the autometer and the mechanical gauge match up... if not, scrap the autometer gauge.

actually there is more too it, my external wastegate only has a 7psi spring, i heard a rattling, so we opened it up, and after that it starting boosting a little higher, instead of 7psi, but it was steady at 10psi, now it is going up to like 13psi, and my boost controller wont drop the boost down, i dont know if it will raise the boost up, i need to get it tuned for higher so i can try
