auto to manual conversion
hey guys,
i was wondering how hard it is to convert a auto tranny to manual. for myself i'm planning for an engine swap but the problem is that my car is auto and i was just told that it is a lot harder and more expensive to do a swap if u want to convert the tranny. I was looking for a first gen b16 to be put on my 93 dx, but from what i was told this engine comes with cable instead of the hydraulic and it's not compatible with the dx(no v-tec either). i was wondering if i should go for the non v-tec b18b motors(1st/2nd gen)since i'm a little tight on cash. And do these motors bolt right on the 5th gen civic?

Bolt it yes... manual swap is a little more expensive, but still a bolt in. If doing a swap, do the tranny at the same time too. dx can be made to have VTEC by hooking up 3 extra wires... VTEC, knock sensor, and something else that slips my mind. Talk to KS-R (Ken), he does good, reasonable-priced work. I'd do B16 in a 5th gen...but B18B is torquey and may be more bang for the buck
