auto to manual

So... i've been looking at doing this for a bit now.

I haven't found any hydrolic trannys at a good price in decent shape. Finally I find an Si tranny off a ZC engine.. it has 70 000k on it and comes with a stage 2 clutch and pressure plate for 300$.. the only problem is that its a cable transmission.

Now, Will a cable transmission bolt right into a 5th gen with a D15b7?

And also, every thing i found in searching these forums suggests that cable trannys suck compared to hydrolic.

Any thoughts?

Is it worth it for that tranny?

and I just talked to friend, he says he is picking up a 5th gen DX like mine and I can have all the parts i need.

Manual tranny
Manual ECU
Shift linkage
Intermediate shaft for manual tranny
Clutch/brake/gas pedal assembly
Clutch master cylinder
Clutch reservoir
Clutch slave cylinder
Hydro clutch lines
Shift ****
Shift boot
Manual Transmission Mount

Is that list everything I will need to do a swap? or is there any more things to use as well?

as for going with a hydro tranny i think you need a mount for the clutch cylinder!!!! you will need 3 tranny mounts and you can use the auto ECU but it will have a CEL on all the time !!!!!

Also.. is there a guide for 5th gen swaps? All the ones i can find are 4th gen which are usually cable trannys or the ones that are 5th gen are for complete motor swaps.. im not changing the motor, just the tranny.

Do you have a welder? Your gonna need to weld the new manual tranny mount to the frame of the car.

I have 220v hookups for a welder and i got a good friend who is a machinist and can weld and fabricate custom metal thingies.. (he made most of the parts for his motorcycle himself)

but im also thinking of taking it to a guy here on TCC who can do it for a good price.
