Auto ==> Manual Conversion.... Help.

Hey just wondering if anyone has had it done... if so how much?

i called lucky star japan they quoted 1 week and 2500....

i called motor sports inc. ART they quoted 1 week and 2400-2600.....

now i dont know if its just me being crazy, but to the best of my understanding this swap should cost between 1400-1600? if im wrong please correct me as this is what i have been informed....

could anyone point me to a reputable mechanic to have this auto swapped to a standard.

THANKS!

whoa.. 2500?.. just buy a new car with a stick for that price.

but your right, I think it costs somewhere in the $1000-1500.

its usually better to sell your car and buy a similiar one with a standard, plus automatics typically (not always) have a higher resale value...

i did mine and it cost me about 1500 bucks. but i sourced out many of the parts i needed myself (clutch master, slave cylinder, pedals etc...)and did a core exchange to lower the cost of the whole job. let me know if you want the number of the shop who did it for me. also if your doing a b-series tranny swap itll probably be more the a d-series tranny swap. hope this helps!

well if u plan on doing the swap on the 95 integra in ur sig u should know that the frame rail is actually different in shape and if u were to use the drill out mount from a 5 spd it acutally doesnt line up like it should like as if u r car were a civic. If u need questuions answered just pm me i have a done a few but like mentioned above u need to source out all the parts ususally takes me 3 days tops long as i dont run into hick ups .
I have mostly everything u would need jsut pm for any help.

if you have an eg or dc2 you will need an auto-manual coversion tranny mount because the tranny bracket on the auto are placed different on the frame rails on auto vs. manual chasis. the ghetto way to do it would be to drill out the spot welds and relocate the bracket to the manual position, but that would be a pure butcher job! 2500 bucks! thats alot, might as well do a whole swap.

I did it a while back. It was neat to see the car go through the process and drive it as both a manual and auto, but it was pricey. I did find it easier to sell as a manual than an auto. (we tried before and after) but seeing how plentiful the civics are, it might be more worth your while to sell and buy a stick.....especially at 2500. If you can find a donor car cheaper, than Id' say do it.
