ASR subframe brace for EF

I was wondering if anyone makes a subframe brace like the ASR one for an EF civic?

I have heard a rumour that the ASR brace for an EG can be made to fit, is that true?

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! Thanks!

I would go to a machine shop, and have them machine cut a plate and just drill the holes. Should be less than 180USD.

Or you trace out the pattern, and just cut and drill.

ASR brace still uses aluminum blocks (long ones) behind the subframe (so you have something to tread into). Again, that can be machined out.

Essentially, it is a Beaks Kit, except it has 1000 times the frontal coverage than the Beaks kit itself :P

Some R&D time is definitely needed, but nontheless a good home project for sure. I would suggest start with a cardboard and trace out a design you like, cut it, make some holes, then trace that noto a MDF for a stronger material, and make a final product.

Then ask a shop to do it for you. But make sure you ask the price first because it is more than the cost of a ASR brace, then just buy one. If savings will be realized, then by all means, try it out.

The ASR brace is nice in that no holes are drilled, it braces not only the front and back, it fits perfect against the holes of the subframe and is a high quality piece.

DIY could be done, but not likely to the quality of the ASR brace. I was really impressed with the quality when I got mine from Charleston of ASR.

There is a EF kit listed on ASR's website.

32mm Hollow Sway Bar kit....Holy Shyt, turn baby turn!

Edit: Says coming soon, but who knows it may be out. The site hasn't been updated in a little bit.

If you get it, watch how you drive on the street. Your ***-end can whip around without much provocation. Happened to me a couple times when I first got it the CTR rear.. Charleston (owner of ASR) runs the 26mm/32mm on the street but he's a track ***** and knows how to handle the car. Where as most of us do not.

Just a little warning.

That should be (theortically) corrected by increasing dempening in the front. But if you have an adjustable coilover setup, a moderate sway bar will be good enough because the rest can be done via the coilover.
