Anyone make these changes and notice it?

Just looking at this site and wondered if anyone here has done any/some/all of them and if they felt there was a change?

my wheels are less than 11 lbs each and yes they make a big difference in acceleration, braking, handling and steering.

ok you know what.... do the exact opposite to see if you notice a difference.

put a 40 lb bag of sand on the floor behind the front seats and see if you notice a difference. if you notice you're slower, then go ahead and make all those modifications and try to lose some weight. not many ppl can tell the difference at all. anyone who says their carbon fiber hood made their car faster is a god damned liar.

Wasn't the rule for drag racing was -100lbs = 1 tenth off your 1/4 mile time?

speaking of weight of rotational unsprung mass....

how heavy are your tires?

most people try and get light weight wheels... forgetting that the tires are further from the rotationing axis. and so therefore affect it more then weight that is closer to the rotation axis.

it was calculated on another board for every extra pound of tire you have on a 15 inch rim it would be like using a wheel thats 2.5 pounds heavier

I like that train of thought, gonna throw my 50lb heavy bag in the back for the weekend and see if I notice anything.

I have a huge box with a 12 inch ported box in my hatch. 1 day i had to take it out because i had to use it for some other things for my trunk. So i took the subs off and went around driving to pick up something. It had no difference at all. Maybe give me an extra 10-15 km more on gas and that's it. ppl don't waste your $$$ on these CF hood and these aftermarket parts just to get a little less weight. If u have a camry with a really heavy hood, that i can say change it. Honda hoods are already pretty light. Why waste the $$$.

A lot of CF hoods are just fibreglass with a CF layer on top, aren't they?

A full CF hood would probably be much lighter, but much more expensive.

I am sure all these benefits add up, but for your daily usage, they don't mean much.

So, after taking the bag out I noticed a difference in cornering but thats about it. I didn't do enough driving to see how much my gas consumption was changed. Had the A/C on anyways so wouldn't have mattered.
