Speak with either Cluster, Octane Eddy, TO Tegs, KSR and the like..

Those are a few names off the top of my head who are aquainted with the laws of boosting.

The Law According to OverKill states "Should learn about your car as you build it, not after you buy it".

Regards,
OK

it's called a boost spike, and you should be scared because you can easily blow your motor with a boost spike.

do you have an external waste gate? if so, what kind?

the waste gate regulates boost and boost spikes are usually cause by a vacume leak from the vacume line going to the waste gate

how is the waste gate hooked up? hooking the vacuum source to the intake manifold is not a good idea...

hook it up to the compressor housing and everything should be
fine...

I wouldn't go WOT until you figure this out...update us

OK, just read your other thread about you just buying this car and that it has the GReddy kit...the GReddy kits have an internal wastegate I believe and I'm not too sure how those are set-up. There still should be a vacume line leading to it though so just look for that...

good luck and remember, all it takes is a split second in a lean condition and KABOOM ...you get a rebuild

Or maybe you have a crappy manifold. A poorly designed turbo manifold is going to cause resonance in the piping, leading to boost 'creep'. I'm not all too familiar with the Greddy system either but find out what type of manifold and waste gate you're running. Ideally you want the manifold to feed the wastegate from all four cylinders and not just one of them, if this is the case the case it can cause 'creep'.
