Its very easy to use and understand. I have yet to datalog with it. I've got a dataloggin cable and a wideband but haven't actually modded the ecu to log yet.
Personally i like crome better. Have you checked out crome matt? Its worth what little they charge for the full edition. |
I have always heard of chrome but never really looked into it, but will now. Im just starting to get my feet wet in DIY tuning and wanted to try a cheap way around it.

so uberdata, crome, hondata???? how does this work??
does this setup work with your stock ecu??? or is it an ecu on its own??? how do you datalog??? through computer software??? is the software easy to understand??? do you have to play around with maps and stuff to get the correct formulas?? any info is appreciated |
works with stock ECU, any OBD1 ecu that you can chip you can use crom eor uberdata.
Uberdata and Crome etc. all they do is read the stock program from the ECU, and allow you to edit parameters in it, like timing, fuel, vtec, cutoff etc. Your going to need to mod the ECU though and install a ZIF socket and some components to run the EPROM chip afer. Your also going to need to buy an EPROm burner, there about $85 us, so you can burn the new program onto the EPROM, and instal it in the ZIF socket on the ECU and run your new custom program. You can also do datalogging with the units as well in realtime to view how your car is running, to help you make changes. |
you datalog by attaching a cable to the CN1 locations on the ecu board. It has to be a very specific cable though.
Then the cable sends the info to uberdata/crome/hondata where it will log the information and then you tune accordingly. You start with a stock .bin file (program) and modify it using uber/crome/hondata. You will know how much to modify where by looking at data that you logged. I wouldn't start messing with the fuel maps until you have a wideband o2 and datalogging capabilities. |
sounds interesting.....i guess this is really helpful when you are constantly modifying the motor
ill look into it in the future...rather then going to dyno tune my car everytime i install new engine components... |
