Anyone has experience with the "Wanli" Tires??
 

currently looking for some cheap street tires to roll around, size 215/45/17, if anyone or know someone using these tires, any comments on them? i am talking about the one that looks like the Yoko AVS, pattern looks good, just don't know about quality

wanli and nankang brand tires are copies of yoko's or toyo's tread patterns...but i'm not sure if the rubber compounds are comparable.

i'm not sure about the quality and where they are made. they are so much cheaper than even the "cheapest" performance tires, ie, kumho 711-712's, dunlop fm901's and falken azenis'...

however, they are even advertised in super street, and other import car mags.

here are some reviews, nothing but praises about them, but then again, it's from a j-body forum..lol.

I'd be embarassed to run them... it'd be like putting APC or Ractive tires on a car. But if they work they work :shrugs:

But, let's talk about your size? 215/45/17 is like... like an Accord size tire? the correct size for the EG that you have listed as your vehicle is 205/40/17. 2001+ Civics run 205/45/17... 215/45/17 is.... MASSIVE! You'll rub your fenders right out and you'll slash your tires pretty good too, esp if you are lowered a little. If you are not lowered, your car will ride about a 1/2" higher. The overall diameter of the tire will be just over an INCH bigger. That's huge :tsk:

I'm running 215 45 17 on an 02 no problems with rubbing and should have no problems dropping about 1.5. But I do agree to them looking massive.

like I said 2001+ run 205/45/17 so it's not a HUGE difference for them, but on an EG it's an inch taller from a stock tire and it's hella wider too.

Heh. I had 215/45/17's on my non lowered EK for about 6 months, they were huge. A little tweaking with the fenders though and they didn't rub except when there were three people in the car. I now have 205/40/17's and my car looks immasculated with its puny little tires. EG's, from what I can tell, have smaller wheel wells and if your car is lowered its not going to happen for you, you'll see your quarter panels in your rearview when you hit the first serious bump.
