Anyone convert ODB2 to ODB1 ECU on Auto tranny?

I want to convert my ODB2 '96 Civic to ODB1 ECU to take advantage of the programming capabilities. Anyone ever do this with an automatic tranny?

I know it's been done for a manual tranny car but I want the programming capabilities on an auto tranny.

highly unlikely, but there is a way around that. make a separate harness from OBD1 plugs on either end, and just plug it in as a separate pieice on the ECU, straight from the tranny to the ECU, and do the rest of it as a stick car would. But the OBD1 ECU won't run your OBD2 tranny if that's what you're trying to do.

Ah, interesting idea. You did answer my question,
the OBD1 ECU won't run your OBD2 tranny if that's what you're trying to do.
But it would be interesting to try to wire two (2) ECU's into the car. One ODB1 for the engine and the other ODB2 for the tranny and then try to figure out what signals need to be shared to make the tranny know the engine information it needs and still have the programming capabilities of ODB1.

Tough and I'll probably stick to seperate VAFC and BTM controllers on ODB2 then the mess of two (2) ECU's.

I wonder about the two ecus too, the only thing I can think of tho is that there are some sensor inputs they BOTH need I think. Do what I did, break out the helms and start comparing wiring diagrams and sensor specs.
