anybody running water/alky injection?

just got my turbo kit the other day and am currently putting a built z6 bottom end in my car. I want to run alot of boost and was thinking a alky/water injection kit would help out alot but i dont really have any experience with one of these set ups. Anybody running one and if so where did you pick it up from? did it help out alot and do you think its worth the extra coin?

Dont see why u wanna alky injection it aint a 1000whp v8. Id say just get some spark plug that will run cooler and youd be better off.

Thanks for yet another usless post.

Defiently worth it, youll be able to run more boost safer.(one of the best ways to control detonation)

For kits, look into Snow, Devil's Own, Alkycontrol

IMy 2c, head over to www.rx7club.com

Go to their AI section (Auxiliary Injection). That'll give you a primer on this stuff.. There is blog by one of the members, Brian Cain who has done a detailed blog a methanol injection kit on his FC3S. Also try hitting the Buick Gran National forums as well. These are the guys who have been doing the water/meth thing for some time. Then you be able to wrap your head around it. I understand it but I can't explain it properly.

I will be doing the same when I boost my LS.

I looked into it for myself and decided against it. It costs a lot, and does require a lil bit of planning and special tuning. Benefits include a clean combustion chamber, lower combustion temps, lower chance of detonation.

alky/water injection isnt just for big power cars, and running cooler spark plugs isnt gonna do a thing compared to getting a alky kit specially on a motor thats going to be seeing over 25psi

this is why you run race gas and pump gas...have 2 tunes race gas for 25 plus psi and a pump tune

you should be able to push 25 ish psi on pump with the right sized turbo point beign aim for a hp goal get it then add alky later after you have all the things straight

I dunno. Dual maps is good in the eyes of not stressing the engine all the time. But race gas I don't see as a viable alternative unless you track your car a lot.

I'll be running water injection in my 240 this summer....controlled by the nitrous table in the AEM.

Water/Meth is not just for high HP cars, but it is for those guys that are looking to stretch the limits of pump gas.

how is race gas not a viable solution...if you want to run big boost you pretty much have to run race gas douche

runnign meth injection all the time is a better one...?

if you street drive your car alot then 2 maps is pretty much the best idea. Throw race gas in a turn up boost at track..seems like the best idea so fare, with water injection it's just another thing to tune/go wrong keep it simple

my s2000 is up at the 550 hp range im running meth/water injection its like insurance for detonation it does help

we also install the snow performance kit on a new duramax turbo deisel tow truck the nnozzle went on the intake side and theres was about a 70degree temp difference

how ever if you arent running high boost or making gobs of power dotn waste your cash just my opinion
