Anybody knows how to do Tie Rod Ends

Looking for a DIY with pics for removal and installation of tie rod ends for 96 civic.

remove the castle nut and cotter pin,, break the tie rod loose with a mallet or a ball joint breaker. Then they just unscrew off,, mark the existing location or count the number of turns till it comes off. Replace the new one till u reach the mark, thread one new nut and put back the cotter pin. Super simple, u will need an alignment for sure,!!!

If you are precise with your turns and don't move the jam nut that much then you won't need an alignment that bad(if your really broke).. even though I always recommend doing an alignment afterwards. Usually tie rods need a little of heat to unscrew off the inner tie rod.. but maybe you'll get lucky.

i hope i get luck and its not seized....what is the whole assembly called?? i think i am leaking some oild from the boot which connect to teh outter tie rod

its easy...

mark them and put the new ones on to that point... if its hard to come off use some heat a tourch it always helps

well it threads onto your inner tie rod which is connected to your rack.. probably just a p/s line leak.. clean it up then let it run and work the p/s untill you can see where the leak is coming from
