but all that money/parts just to be different.
That setup on a b-series you can be making (with a bigger turbo setup) like 800whp....seriously
Now thats different.

But to each their own.

That's true, quite a few people have big horsepower for cheap on a D. Especially with the Vitara piston/Eagle Rod/Zex Cam combination.

i wasn't laughing at a 400whp D. I was laughing at some of the responses.

Some little D?!?!?!
You mean your $4000 d-series engine.
And i hate to tell you there are plenty of people making big power out of heavily built d-series...so you're not the first, or even really all that different for that matter.

nobody said i was going to be the first, theres tons of powerful d's, just when most people see it go there gonna think its alot more then a little d hiding under the hood.

its funny how you say a little d.....i wouldn't really consider a built to the **** d-series to be a little d.
For your power goals a relatively simple b-series build would yeild the same results (with less strain on the engine) and you wouldn't even need to send it out for sleeving.
You're gunna spend so much money on things that IMO are a waste (especially when ur starting with a crappier platform).

Either way....happy boostin'

The initial cost of the B series engine is what is the equalizer in this case. Even if you buy an LS+Tranny that is about 1000 dollars initial cost before you even touch the motor.

Besides what I get from corey's posts is that he is looking for an element of uniqueness. There are tons of people who do H22's, boosted B's, and K's. The D for the most part has been left to the realm of the budget enthusiast or people who want to stand out in a unique way. On the street, the extra potential of the B is useless IMO. I think it's a great idea what he's planning to do and I will probably do the same in due time.

anything over 200wtq is useless on the street.. that includes a boost D. For God sakes.. even 150wtq is brutal on the streets.

****.. sounds like the only reason you want to do this is so you can be like. my D series is faster then your B series.. You have so much to learn, your about to jump into the middle of the ocean and try to swim to the bottom.. seriously, what you want to do is not only impractical but it just dosent make sence. So many better options. Unless your just one of those D series freaks and dont care if it costs more to make your D run 10's then it would a B.

Regardless, if you stuck some vitaras in that with eagle rods, and made 400whp, that would be something to be proud of.

Goodluck with your setup

As far as 400whp on the street.. Your motor will make some decent TQ as well.. since all that boost that it will take to turn 400whp will help with the TQ.

Remember, dosent matter what you got, what you built etc, theres always gonna be some other guy on the streets with a bigger badder faster setup then you, and trust me have 400whp, theres gonna be quite a few other setups in the GTA that are street driven.

What turbo are you going to run?
