an adjustable cam gear on a SOHC engine will only move the powerband up or down in the rpms. And on a stock engine that is pretty much useless in my opinion.

My opinion begs to differ... a sohc with bolt ons ( i/h/e ) and an adj. cam gear can make a HUGE difference. If car get slapped on a dyno and some tunning is done ( ecu ). A guy from b town has it done on spray ppl think its a gs-r on spray and off spray ppl think its a gs-r built for spray so it runs weak off it. If only they knew it was a single. LMAO.

a SOHC on spray makes about GSR power anyways, I'm sure te cam gear makes no difference. a cam gear is a decent tuning tool, but 95% of ppl won't have it tuned on a dyno, cuz let's be real.... who here buys a $100 cam gear, then goes out and spends $1000 on Hondata and tuning??

as part of a built engine an adjustable cam gear could help. I would say more on DOHC b/c you can adjust the intake/exhaust cams separately increasing/decreasing overlap as desired. But with a SOHC you can not change the intake/exhaust individually b/c there's only 1 cam and only 1 gear.
So like i said in my 1st post, an adjustble cam gear is pretty much useless on a stock engine. That goes for both SOHC and DOHC. Get a different cam(s), and adjustable cam gear(s) can make a big difference.
With my adjustable cam gears, i dailed out some of the overlap on my cams (stage 2) to help it idle a little better.
