Am i getting ripped off?

This was a estimate i got for my tune-up...

plugs - 6.95 x 4
wires - 98.60
air - 12.85
fuel - 35.00
PCV - 6.95
cap - 24.95
rotor - 18.50
belt + pump 550.00

total with tax and labour = 890.00

by the way do i need anything else done considering my car has 105,000 km and last time i did a tune up was at 60,000 (other than oil change)???

...i know...it's bad...

The labour is killin ya... why not do this yourself??

Yes, you need a valve lash adjustment...

I took my dist apart yesterday for inspection, did it at 10PM in the dark, and it still only took me 10 minutes. As for the fuel filter, that's like a 5-7 minute job, the PCV should take <1 minute, the belt and pump could be... ummm, like a 4 hour job for an amateur. You are getting ripped big time. They are charging you soooo much for labour, but that's accepted industry standards. If you can't do it yourself, why not go to Buddah's shop with a handfull of OEM parts and ask him to install.

That's way too much, you can buy a new si motor with that money and swap out your dx
I think the wires are a bit pricey and your getting shafted hardcore on the belt and pump. I did the exact same tune up for $350 with parts but the guys shop moved otherwise I would send you there. You can put everything in yourself except for the belt, you don't wanna mess that up or say good bye to your motor. I can get the parts for cheaper, pm me and i'll give you the guys number and directions. I can also ask for a quote on that belt if you want from a guy I know. Let me know, pm me and I can try to help you out.

Ya, the timing belt is not as hard as it seems... It's just scary cuz they make it out to be, but I thought a head gasket job would be tough... but I did one of those anyways. It was a joke. Don't be intimidated.

ok I am a car retard... I want to know what were the things mention in his quote. They are abbrv. and like i said I am a car retard and don't know crap. So I want to at least "seem" to know what I am talking about when I go get quotes to avoid getting ripped off.

PCV ?
Fuel (I am assuming hte fuel filter?)
Air (again I am assuming air filter?)
Cap ?
Rotor (brake rotors?)

Other then Altech where do you guys suggest I get my car tuned basically the same as 1Solid_DX (no belt or pump, but possibly distributor). Good price and trustworthy

Thanks

Oh, and a rotor and cap from Crappy Tire is like $30.
Three bolts and a screw and it is done. Very simple

For parts like that, how DARE you suggest CT! Just called my dealer, I was told 25 for rotor and 28 for cap. Fookin crooks... checked online and it's WAY cheaper. I'm gonna order like $400 worth of maintenance + replacement parts from the States prolly in one or two weeks, just to stock up so I dont' have to deal with these bastards again. Civic's about due for a whole bunch of new crap.

donesixer, it's jokes... I go to CT for some stuff for my Saturn... I bought a SWEET alternator there from Bosch that I threw in the Saturn, now my lights are back again and I don't have any more alternator whine in my system But the Honda ONLY sees OEM replacement... cuz it's been good to me for almost 5 years, now it's time for me to be good to it.
