Aluminum shifter bushings

So I've found a few different sets of shift bushings for my 06 Civics. Although the cable operated shifters in the 8th gen Civics are much better then the 7th Gen, they are still sloppy compared to the old metal linkage shifters from the 6th Gens.

Anyway, these aluminum bushings replace the factory rubber pieces and apparently greatly reduce the slop and play in the shifters.

I'm wondering if anyone might have some thoughs on potential problems with using metal vs rubber bushings. I've read many threads on clubrsx and no one seems to haveanything bad to say.

I always wanted metal bushings...away with slop!!

I dunno how those new shifters work but all I can think of is possibility of noise from metal to metal contact...but nothing that lube wouldnt fix...go for em brah!

The noise and metal to metal contact would occur under the hood where the cables attach to the transmission. These bushing are on the transmission side, not the shifter.

hell no, I'd never substitute metal for rubber. rubber or urethane help dampen vibrations... any vibration from the shifter side would be directly translated into pressure on the insides of the tranny. so as you drive along, any movement in the shifter would shorten the life of your tranny. go for urethane if anything.
