Alternator Belt Question

Alternator Belt Question
I have a 99 Civic w/ a b16A swap, would I be getting a replacement an SIR or just as for one for a 99? I know the alternator I am using is my stock one, but just double checking to see that I am getting right belt.
Also I was doing a search, is there a quick write up on changing the alternator belt. I assume its fairly easy to do but I have never done it on this car so not sure of the exact steps.
If someone could quickly post some instructions that would be cool.
THanks

i believe all the honda motors use the same alt or atleast between the tegs and civics.
as for changing the belt, if u have PS And AC u have to remove both of those belts and then loosen the upper and lower alt mouting bolts and remove the belt, then install the new belt and get the tension proper.

yeah its not too bad if u have a garage, just gotta loosen the AC and PS belts and then u can take the alt one off after loosening it aswell. pm scott newman and see how much he woudl charge to do it

alright! whos scott newman? an affiliate or just another member? I was thinking, would it be wise just to replace the ac and ps belt anyway since they are probably going to be taken off?

yeah it doesnt hurt to have them replaced. scott newman is a mechanic on the boards, he was a honda mechanic but now he has his own space to work in. awesome work, knows his stuff, awesome prices

I just changed all my belts, it's so easy a trained monkey can do it. Alternator one is the one closest to the engine block I think, then power steering, the A/C if I recall correctly. Just loosen the A/C and PS tensioners, and remove the belt, then loosen the two bolts holding the alternator and move the alternator so the belt is loose, and slip it off. reverse the procedure, and voila!
If in doubt about the part #, just take a look at your original one and note the part # on it.
