Dont know if this should go here or in Exterior but it seems to fit...

My question is 2 of my brother's friends both have 2000 Accord's with alloy rims. Both say they need to re-grind them almost once every month due to road conditions (salt, snow, etc...) or they will lose air in tires. i've never heard about this before and i was just wondering if its happened to anyone else and how to fix it w/o having to change rims cuz my sister also has a 2000 Accord w/ alloy's.

i just thought that alloys would just chip/fade/etc.. during winter cuz of salt and stuff but this is totally new to me.

keep em clean, the clearcoat will eventually start to chip yellow fade after years and years...my mom's 1990 accord wheels look mint still, dont hit curbs or drive like colin mcrae in gravel and the wheels should stay primo for years

your friends are spun! re-grind their rims? wtf are they talking about? if u frequently change tires on alloy rims u can ruin the bead and the seal will suck but thats from excessive tire changes...go smack your friends and tell them to buy you a beer...can I come watch them grind their rims every month?

yah ive never heard of this frequent regrinding eaither... sounds expensive.. I bet its some tire shop pulling their leg for some regular cash

yeah i thought it sound extremely stupid as well...but thanks for clearing it up
