wow I actually wasted that much time reading it...

when I was first looking for a car I was thinking heavily about a 4th gen and doing a ZC swap on it.....

why?

simple it was cheap .... 350 is what the average price was I found when looking into this a year ago

anyways too much in thread fighting happening so I ain't saying more then this one post

most of the dudes I track race with had B series swaps done ... a lot of hada was all about the B series... well they've all gone back tot he ittle D series engines why? well a few reasons:

1) better classing for the competitions

2) way more reliable even after being built up...(debateable but the tread is there with in the group in terms of blow engines)

3) way way way cheaper to replace if engine goes boom so that leads to way way way more experimentation

4) the 1/4 mile has no curves we race on tracks with curves a D series engine is closer in wieght to what the stock suspension was built for

the reasons are sound ... if you want a good system stick to the D series it will make you happy and be cheaper to replace when things go boom... (which we haven't seen happen yet in the race prepped D's in the HADA club)

also notice throughout those pages this is my first post ... man I must be super busy today

Gosh this thread is a fast developer, eh? Faster then F&F.

Toronto Pimp, you don't know people, and people don't know you. Some guys may be laughing at you or whatever, but that doesn't mean you really work at a crappy job and live in a slum. If you are really 21 and make 57G a year, hey, that's great. You are getting off life a little better then the rest of us.

That's super.

You have some education status, and you sure have done quite well to obtain those degrees/certs in 2 or 3 years. So I am gonna say you are a smart young man, with a big future ahead of you. But you gotta live your life with a cheerful attitude. You can be defensive but when an argument can be carried both ways (ie. which engine is better then the other) it is all about personal taste and whatnot. Let people say what they way, but also, try to be not so offensive and use your words selectively.

For a Gov. empolyee, I hope your attitude can be a little more positive then that. Sure Gov. pays better and has a better holiday system and other benefits, but that's definitely something you should not be taking advantages of.

I like to lay back low and sorta hide behind the scene (except when I feel like to make an *** out of myself and make a joke about me so others can laugh). You don't need to let people know how much you make and where you work. Well, we sorta know where some people work because there were threads about working location but that doesn't mean we need to tell people how much we make so you could get more respect. I would respect you the exact same way whether you work at McDonald making min. wage, or work at IBM Lab pulling 70G a year. Money and job don't matter when you have the right attitude. With less money, you may be limited to certain things such as buying expensive items or go on holidays or living in a better neighbourhood but that doesn't make you any less then other people. Same thing goes for making a **** load of cash. It doesn't make you god, either.

So relax. I am sure you know something that we don't know. So share your ideas and learn from others. Aight my brother?

So much for being offtopic... well, I know nothing about ZC engines, but I am gonna keep my D16 for as long as I could.

Ok, I might get reamed for this, but i have yet to read ALL the posts...but what you said there doesn't add up.

Almost $60 G's a year, right?

OSAP loan not paid off yet, right?

You can afford to get something nice if you put your mind to it, right?

Gee, if your making THAT kind of $$'s, then your osap would of been paid off in 1/2 a year or less. As for the nice car, good excuse............(put your mind to it).

YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO MANAGE YOR MONEY.......if you did, the loan would be gone.......you'd have a nice car, and you wouldn't be living in your parents basement wacking off to online ****.

Go away little boy............... go play in traffic.

(why oh why did I waste my time reading all those posts)

Pulovr - you're 100% on the money. I just spent 10 mins reading through this whole thread. EEEEEEsssssshhhhh!

There are merits to both avenues (ZC or B Series). Lets just leave it at that.

Peace to all..

For all of u bashing the zc, i have had one in my car for 3 years now with no problems, i have driven a crx with a b16 and the zc holds its own and has more low end torque , i have had my zc rebuilt recently with Je pistons ,Crower rods to handle boost with hopefully will be installed this coming week, and from researching for almost 2 years now i think the zc is perfect for boosting.in my experence with the zc has been nothing but good

Thank you and 'i must tell everyone my job even though it has absolutely nothing to do with the topic' was quoting some post off crx resource where they said otherwise.
I agree more low end torque.

now i see why this thread got so big

Pimp.............. quit trying to start **** unless you have the ***** to come to a meet and say it to someones face.

as for the whole zc vs B16 debate

zc's are peppy for a $350 engine.......... they are definatly overlooked when people are thinking of a swap

B16's may be the " meat and potatoes " of honda engines...... but at the same time, theres no power until your vtec kicks around 4700 ish

they're both great engines, just depends on what your needs are
