A B-16 is a great motor but unrealistic for some of us! A B-16 will not bolt into my CRX, but a ZC will. So let's break things down...
B-16 A1 $1200
B16 doesn't drop right in so install is more, you gotta run wires for the ecu... so say $800
but it also needs mount's $600
Itergra axle's $160 / side
you need shift linkage's to mod $100
you want an intake so say $350
and there's prob. so more mis. that I'm forgetting.
ZC $350
-savings of $850
install is a drop in, Dented did it on his driveway. But if you wanna pay no more than $300
-savings of $500
don't need mount's $0
-savings of $600
don't need axle's $0
-savings of $320
use my D-series intake $0
-saving's of $350
Total spent-----------$650
Total saved-----------$2600
With that $2600 you can take you motor and rebuild it a Leitner to be a B-16 killer.
Port and Polish $1200
New piston's $600
Cam's $600

ok, why do you feel you have to prove yourself to ppl on the board? you think cuz you make decent money for a government office taht it makes you better than a person working their *** off in a factory? if you are getting so bent out of shape because ppl don't agree with you, you might want to jsut drop it, pick up your pride and go somewhere else

Wow I must say this topic wen't quite off topic and a for riceburners little chart there, makes a lot of sence. Anyhow im not going to take this crackheads side on the b16 or the other side but for under $1000 a zc motor is definitly worth it, the motor hasn't given me any problem in my 2 years of owning it, I take care of it and she treats me right and you can't go wrong with the swap and a little learning experience if you decide to do it on your own. But I also love the b16 in an ef, the car definitly boogies
BTW I never heard of that 88-89 as oppsed to 90-91 thing where the newer ones run better, not sure about that but ifit's true that's good b/c I have a 90

Give me your Name so I can verify your status with Enviroment Canada, A technical service specialist is coming in on tues to do some work, he will recognise your name if you speak truthfully...your probably just some co-op student that knows the figures of what your bosses are making..
And Just for the Record My other vehicle is a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. And I love my Civic, Its fun to build and mess around with, its a hobby; Like I could own a BMW or something but then what are you gonna do with it other than drive it? its already performance built
that's no fun...I take pride in my civic cuz I make it perform well with my own 2 hands. How can you be proud of something thats been done for you?? My point here is that just because we own Civics doesnt mean we are poor
