Akward Situation with Stripped Nut. Any Suggestions?

I was trying to take my auto tranny off and I needed to take out all the bolts that hold the tranny to the block. I came upon this one bolt that was very hard to get to. In fact there is so little clearence that I could not use a ratchet. I had to resort to using a wrench. After musculing with that bolt for a while, I noticed that the wrench has stripped the bolt pretty well. So how do I get this sucker out?

I read peoples suggestions about using those bolt out craftsman kits, but they are sockets too, and if I cant fit a socket now, then I wont fit that socket either.

I cant drill the bolt because there is no clearence.

I cant use power tools because I am in an underground parking with no electrical outlets.

The only idea I could come up with is maybe welding on a new nut over the stripped nut. Thing is, I can;t hook up a welder without electricity, so I would have to use either JB weld, or this weird steel infused epoxy I have. I have no clue how these would hold up to torquing out the bolt from the block though.

So any suggestions for this almost impossible task?

Thanks.

try using a set of adjustable pliers. Lock em on the head of the bolt real tight and see if that works.
You seem to have pretty bad luck with stripping nuts and bolts.

use a vise grip.

Grab a potato and cut it in half, press half onto the stripped bolt and turn.

That should get the bastard!

if that doesn't work, try grinding a flat angle back on, or cutting a slot into the head.

Also, did you remove the other bolts already and this is the last bolt? If it is, put the other bolts back in to take the weight off this bolt.

since its tight.. you are really limited to your options.. i would try vice grips or a cresent wrench and get it really tight so you dont strip it even further or try hammering a small socket on the bolt if its that stripped

The potato coupled with vice grips did the job :)
Thanks a lot guys.
