Ahh... rear pass susp creaks/squeaks

At first I thought it was a warped drum, but it is more of a creaking noise now. It can be mostly heard in parking lot speeds. Also, it creaks sometimes when I brake (moderately soft). When it does creak, it is more noticable when I pulse the brakes (apply pressure and release, repeat).

Does anyone have an idea? This is a 96 Civic Si, someone had the same experience and it was the toe adjustment piece. How do I get that fixed... I do need an alignment.

It occured after lowering the car, it is now using EG LCA bushings since the Tokico HPs were for EGs and my mechanic had spare bushings.

I had the exact same noise on my civic, thru it up on a hoist..everything seemed fine as far as suspension..checked the bushings on the LCA's, they were done. Checkem out.

My old 98 Si had a creak from the rear passenger side that drove me nuts for the 5 years I owned the car. No one could figure it out. It was there before and after my springs and shocks, so I thought it was one of the control arms or something. I found out that Honda had a TSB out for bushings in the rear LCA that concerned a cracked bushing that made a creaking sound. I never bothered getting it changed, so I assume thats what it was.

Maybe the same thing is happening with the EG LCA you have now.

I think I'm going to swap LCAs and see whats up.

Same thing, happens when I brake even lightly at slow speeds.

could be a bushing or a ball joint, i really dont think it would be the brakes, the reason i think ur hearing the noise when ur pulsing the brakes is due to weight transfer while pulsing making the suspension components (balljoints, bushings, seals, etc.) move and make it squeek and creek. but this is my guess...

I get that sqeak all the time, it sounds like my coilovers or something. seems to be from the front, could be wrong. I'll have to check the LCR. My 98 accord on H&R sport does the exact same thing, it is annoying driving around hearing the sqeaking sound all the time.

yes thank you for explaining weight transfer to me

why doesn't he be a lil smart about it and open his trunk then push down on the trunk floor to see if the noise still happens.... keeping in mind if his brakes are dragging he might still hear the squak as the car rocks back and forth.

i have a squeak from the rear, but i'm 100% certain its my strut brace. If you anything attached like a strut brace, it might squeak during body twist.
