aftermarket springs on coilover perches???

aftermarket springs on coilover perches???
Hi guys, can you put an aftermarket spring on a coilover perch? Does it have to be a shortened spring ie. Eibach/ GC or could I get say a neuspeed and use my sleeves with them? It'd be a cheaper alternative to buying new eibachs for the front at 100$ a piece. thanks for the help.
