After market mufflers ....

I just got a ticket with my after market muffler. Stuipd cop said its too loud. I m thinking of replacing one. All the mid pipes are done. Just replacing the drum.

Do u guys know any good performance mufflers that are relatively cheap in price and NOT as loud.

get a 24'' resonator. Shut your muffler right up.

yea a resonator will do a good job!
maybe you could even get away with it just adding the resonator on your current exhaust

good luck!

Shouldn't he have a db meter to measure the sound of your exhaust before ticketing? I thought that's what they had to do?

I don't see how you would loose if you took the ticket to court, what test was done by the cop to determin if your exhaust is 'loud'?

just wondering

it's up to the cop's decision to decide wheither you're muffler is too loud. the db meter thing is just something they do in the states.

i got pulled over about a week ago for the same thing and mine looks stock buts its a 2.25 catback with a catalytic and resonator and i still got pulled over for it. the cops are just trying to pick out something when they pull you over for no reson. im definalty fighting mine, the cop probly thinks im not gonna fight it cause im an hour and a half outta town. the funny part is i put the resonator on the weekend b4.

Fight it forsure. Who knows the cop may not even show, they tend to pull a lot of imports over for no reason. I myself get pulled over all the time. Im awaiting this summer it'll be a daily thing. From Sept 04-Sept 05 I had 50 some odd tickets. And prob been pulled over 75+ times. But they were all b.s tickets ( exhaust, improper seat belt assembly, stop sighns, a few speeding, unecisary noise ... ) Yet I still have all my points

Newho word of advice if u knoe a mechanic shop have them write something for u that the exhaust has been changed. Usually in Peel it gets dropped if u show them documents of it being changed. Otherwise just get a stock exhaust something like an si-R or gs-R. Gut the catty, do ur piping it'll sound nice & give u the power without all the pulling over. And if they do pull u over its a OEM Honda Muffler

Gut the cat? Does nobody care about the environment? Does 2 - 3 hp really make a difference?
