Aem V2

Hey anyone have one of these? Think it better than the old one? It's pretty expensive, would you buy it? AEM V2

thought about it once..there was a GB at a time..
beginning to come to the belief that tho that there are better ways to spend yer money..$400 for 2-3 horse is a lot..

would i buy one?? not unless i ran out of other stuff to buy and "needed a fix"..
they're supposed to out-perform the original, but as yet i've not heard any actual "testament" to this..

so what kinda intake would you use? I would figure this is the best intake out right now looks/brand/cold air.

looks sweet that's for sure..

if i had to go cold air?? i'd put the obx back on that i just ripped outta there..

or i'd go with a generic 3-4 inch piping with a K&N filter..(preferred over a 2.5" pipe for reasons below..)

the whole idea behind the AEM2 was to create a pocket for air because to start sucking it up the 2.5" pipe took forever and created a lag..
get a big "air-can" there and the intake has something to feed from while the air get's moving from the filter..

mine now is something totally "self-thought-thru" and i have yet to see if it'll be what i'm after once the "rammed" CF hood comes in..

oh, and CAI??, don't forget to get the by-pass

If I had the cash, Comptech Icebox. I found a slightly used AEM CAI for $150 thats works as advertised. I personaly wouldn't buy a V2. I can't see it being that much better than what I have now.

that looks sick, but do they even sell that here? HAHA, it would probably be expensive too.

That is a sweet looking piece. Very trick. I didn't see any Honda engines in there though.

I heard you have to remove an engine mount to install the V2 correctly.

can anyone confirm??

That's the air intake in the new Celica, and also the new 2004 Sienna Minivan. It just looks so weird, and yet, kinda badass...

I think the line is developed for Toyota mostly, probably something TRD developed. I could read some of it, only the Chinese part lol.

oh, as for the AEM V2, I don't know but I was thinking of getting the original AEM CAI, but after much thought, I decided to swap the engine then put a CAI on it. But ya, AEM is the brand I would go with.

I haven't seen any conclusive data that proves the V2 is worth it. Just stick to the regular CAI or get the Comptech Icebox.
