Anyone have any experience with the cheaper "XS POWER" (no-name) turbos?

Some claim they are almost as good as a greddy turbo since they all have identical genuine internals.

I have read on other forums that "XS Power" stainless steel turbo headers are a complete joke, and that they only last a few months before falling apart. But thats just their headers.

Yet, even on homemadeturbos.com, they used an XS Power turbo with a custom manifold and had decent results.

Any feedback?

http://store.yahoo.com/cheapturbo/gartur.html Thats a good site for turbo's, also maybe consider a rebuilt turbo to save some cash but make sure its a reputable rebuild place because some will **** the seals up and you'll have a little oil issue:P

honestly don't skimp out garret's tolarencaes are in the thousandths i bet xs power or whatever, prolly yo the hundredths... you really do get what you pay for

sounds like another name for SS Autochrome

my buddy had that manifold, and it literally fell apart in 2 weeks. it would glow red hot just from a drive around the block. looked great though!! dunno anything about the turbos, but yeah... I wouldn't skimp on a turbo. there are nuff reputable places you can buy from.
