Advice On Installing Distributor
I have had the distributor off my B18B1 engine for a while.... and I want to re-install it.
To line up the sprocket thingy on the end of it with my engine, I think I should do this:
1) Put 1st cylinder at TDC.
2) Remove cap from distributor and rotate distributor rotor assembly so that it points to the prong for cylinder Number 1 (also make sure spark plug wire follows to cylinder number 1 too)
3) Re-install distributor cap and carefully ensure I don't move the rotor/sprocket assembly.
4) The sprocket thingy at the end of the distributor should now line up with the slot in the engine's hole.
5) Bolt in distributor.
My Hanyes manual doesn't explain this, so does my guess above seem ok?
Thanks again people,
