adj fuel regulator worthwhile??

Hi guys, just a quick poll. Ive been thinking about getting an adjustable fuel reg. for my civic. It sees solo 2 duty and I at one point at redline the car stalled out on me. I think this may be fuel starvation. None the less, I've got the regular goodies I/H/E and a chip. Would the B&M adjustable regulator be a good step. I had one on my integra years ago, and wasn't sure how much it did(expet burn gas!) Thanks guys. Ryan

well for a adjustable FPR to be any good you will NEED to have a fuel pressure guage. You can't just blindy guess what your fuel pressure is.

i agree with bruno, its a waste of money, especially seeing as you have to buy a fuel pressure guage as well.

fuel injection on 99% of cars runs at around 40 psi. even AMG Mercedes and other high end cars. that's what your injectors are designed for, and pressure outside of that reduces the effectiveness of the injector's atomizing ability so the fuel particles would be a diff't consistency and pattern. this might lead to lean spots in the cylinder or improper air/fuel distribution in the combustion chamber. the Honda fuel rail and lines are good for 400-500 hp. After that, you'd need an Aeromotive setup.

Thanks guys, ya I wasn't sure about them either. They don't seem to make sense for us. Plus it seems like a sure fire way to foul a couple of 02's and a new cat. So no go.
