AC Woes!

ok well here's my prob.

my aircon works fine whenever im running the car. no probs. of course u can feel the sudden loss of power, especially at night. but when im on idle, say on a redlight, its not cold, not at all. what could be the prob? is tightening my belts help? or is the fan or motor altogether?

yeah, but you have to get a shop to recharge the system... and they should do leakdown testing to see if your seals have let go.

You'll have to go to a shop with a/c equipment. If it's not already retro fitted to r134a they will have to do that. If you are low on that, they will have to do a leak test and find the problem, then fix it, then they can recharge it. They just don't top it back up. Its illegal to do that. Its a pressurized system, there's no reason for it to be low, except that theres a leak. If they do just top it up, take it and run.lol
