ABS light is on and off - CEL/DTC code

Ok. my ABS light is sometimes on for no reason even i am not breaking.. dun know what give., but ECL is not on at all.

I short the pin4&9 on the odb adapter to get a code.. The CEL blinked twice (long) and about a 3 sec break, and same pattern repeats (2 long blinks and break) and repeats again.

again.. my CEL is not on while driving.. it only blinks when i short the 2 pins.

You have to be specific with your engine code.

What car do you have? Im not aware of a 96 CX Hatch with ABS? And it could be your Abs sensors on your brakes try cleaning them.

thanks for the page.

i have a 2002 EP3 now..

the CEL is not on. is it possible the it's just a old code store in the memory? should i assume i dun have this problem anymore?

it's the ABS light coming on that bothers me?

The ABS light can come on for many reasons.

1. Your ABS Pump is toast
2. You ABS sensors (On the brakes) are toast or dirty. Try cleaning those off.
3. There is a leak in your ABS lines or pump which means when the pressure drops your ABS light comes on.
