About the Rear sway bar

I have seen few threads about strut bar, tie bar and sway bar.
And I have few question about them.
Out of all, is it the sway bar that have the greatest effect on handling. ( it makes sense on the mechanical side, but is it really true) Secondly, I have 96 Hatch back, What do I have? I don't think I have either front sway bar and rear sway bar.
( please correct me if I am wrong) And I am planning to get it for this comming summer. What do I need? do I need LCA? ( I think the replacement of the LCA will cost a great amount of money right?)
Is there any alternative?
thanks

If the arm has a mount for an endlink you will not need new arms, but also, dont let people talk you into upgrading to poly, because unless you replace all the bushings, it's not really worth it, and in *some* cases, can work against each other. Perhaps even lead to binding. At least it can with a 4 link rwd vehicle. Sway bar will show the biggest difference, as the point of it is to level out the car, so when you turn left and the body goes right, it pushes on the opposite side and evens out the bodyroll. Strut tower bars are for use against flex from what I understand, and probably dont do a whole lot for the money they cost. By no means am I a pro, so dont come in here and flame me (you all know who you are)

im not really sure but i think all civics have the mounts .. and yours might already have sway bars stock.. just not very big. sways bars are the best for handeling though.

i believe all eks came with front 22mm bars at least. someone correct me if im wrong. only sirs came with a 13mm rear sway bar. if you want to bump up to a 22mm bar i'd get an asr brace. the design of the ek subframe is even weaker than the egs so i wouldn't even get a beaks kit. i know beaks kit is proven but i'd be much more safer with an asr brace. subframes have ripped before with just a beaks kit so asr would be the best choice. it's better to invest a little more on a brace then to get your subframe rewelded or even replaced in worse case scenario. all eks came with holes on the rear lcas.

OMFG again with all the misinformation.

stock 6th gen hatchbacks never had swaybars, not the front, not the rear. yes you need the front LCAs plus more. rear LCAs have the holes for endlinks.

read the other thread that Pyro posted up, I wrote everything in there already.

and yes, mechanically and practically, the sway bar makes the most difference in handling compared to strut and tie bars.

Sway bar will do more work before strut bar. Tie bar does very little, to none.

All 6th gen rear LCA are the same.

LCA may cost a lot, have patience, look for FS threads. Forks, just buy them from Honda.

Si has front sway bar (smaller ones), SiR has 26mm (same as CTR), everything else has none.

there are no aftermarket performance LCAs for the front... they may be available as service parts from NAPA or Carquest.

Moroso at one point made aftermarket front LCAs.

Tubular front LCA

Seem like discontinued now, and you might need to weld on a connecting point if you wish to use a front sway bar.

I would not dare to run those tubular LCAs on the salt ridden streets of Toronto... or on the street period! I think those LCAs were meant strictly for drag cars.
