about coilovers...

hey guys whats up.. iam still in search for coilovers but i dont know which ones to get
i do want ground controls but i dont have that much cash..i dont have a job right now.. still focusing on school

i recently went shopping to Cockpit in Oakville and when i asked for prices and they told me my heart almost stopped.. they quoted me on a ibach sport kit.. just the springs (580+tax) w/o install .. i didnt even bother asking for coilover prices... i could almost get ground controls for that..

but anyways.. what do u recomend.. should i just wait.. save up and purchase ground controls or are there other coilovers out there that do almost the same job

thx

I had GC, they were good, but IMO, it's either full coilover or shock and spring combo... buy a good quality spring and shock, and you'll be happy.

Damn, that's highway robbery what they tried to charge you. I sell the same springs fo $310. If you want a sleeve-type coilover, I'd recommend nothing short of Skunk2 or Ground Control. Otherwise, standard lowering springs are great. I use them on my car.

$580+tax for Eibach's  What a rip. How low do you wanna go? If you want to super slam then you would have to get coilovers. If you just want to lower it a bit than springs would do the trick:thumbup:

yah i wana do about a 2.7 to 3 in drop... and i really want to go springs but the thing is this year my winter beater aint gonna last long and the school i go to is pretty far and the car isnt that stable

so.. *sigh* i think this year ill have to drive my baby in the snow LOL

oh yah.. that store for sure i went to.. pure theifs...and there pricks too.. small ass shop.. dumbass amatures work there too.. i would never trust an install there..... u guys should go to the shop and give them **** like i did LOL

and oh yah another question.. did any of u drive ur cars this winter? on lowering springs.. i saw a couple this winter on the road.. i was wondering if the ride was ok.. like no one got stick LOL.. i doubt it though

if i want to go springs ill be going for H& R racing springs (2.7 front, 2.5 back) and on Koni Reds

I drove the winter on Neuspeed Race springs, and it wasn't too bad. I've since swapped the springs out for H&R Sport. If you want to slam your car really low, you have no choice but to get the coilovers.
