About To Buy New Suspension - Need Some Guidance
 

Hey Everyone,

I was about to buy a new suspension system for my 99 Civic Hatchback. I was going to buy some Tokico shocks and Tein springs. How does that set-up sound to everyone? The Shocks will cost me $354 and springs will cost of $208.

what are you looking to do? just lower the car for the look? for performance? is cost vs. performance important to you? what type of tokico shocks are you looking at getting?

that sounds like a decent set up if you just want to lower the car and still have a comfortable ride

Well, I'm definitely looking for a bit of performance. I figure no matter what I lower it with, the car will still look good. Thought I'm guessing these parts aren't anything special?

why not just go skunk2 pro S coilovers? height adjustable (always a good thing so ur back and front are even and it dosnt look like a domestic :P) for 600? if u wanna go that way pm me and ill hook u up brand new for 600+6% (636)

iv heard good things about them the spring rate is stiff so good performance and ull get the drop that u think looks best and that suites ur needs for ur daily driving!

or u can take my sir struts with tein springs perfect drop

i would say skip the mix & match and go with a full coilover. why--? the spring and dampening rates are matched to be optimum; whereas if you piece together a system they arent designed to work with one another.

suspension is a learning process, if you feel good about the setup then go with it. personally though, i would recommend spending the $550 on a decent full coilover thats been used 1-2 years.

the install is cheaper too because they are already assembled.

hr springs with a 1.7 in drop match with tokico illumias (sp) and your set imo.
