99 Integra SE

Sup all, just wondering if any of you bother putting intakes on your 3'rd gen Teg's. Its a 1999 SE so it comes with 142hp I think and no Vtec. Is there any point, is it just for the sound?

If so which model would you recommend and anything I should watch out for?

P.S. sorry for the newbie question I think everyone is entitled to at least one!

i don't do my performance modifications for how they sound... maybe it is just me but i want the "peformance" out of it.

the aem cold air intakes are probably one of the best you can get but they are also one of the most expensive. check with the affiliates for availability for your application.

Ok so there are no gains?

I opened up the air box and the stock filter was pretty dirty, what about if I just drop in a K&N filter into the stock box?

there are gains, but they're minimal. I mean how much do you think an intake can improve the performance of a 1.8L 4 cylinder? Even with I/H/E there's not much power gained. I don't mean to rain on your parade, but its the truth.
But a car with I/H/E sounds very nice and does make a little more power compared to stock.

Yeah thats cool I'm just asking, I didn't expect the car to start flying or anything, although my friend put an intake on his RSX type S and it made quite a bit of power.

I think i might try the drop in for now...

The K series engine in the RSX responds to mods, even simple bolt-ons a hell of a lot better than b series engines do. You'll usually get bigger gains from K series performance mods.
