99-00 Rear Swaybar
 

i was thinking off installing a DC2 rear swaybar into my 99 civic Si. Would you notice a different in handling? Will the orginal endlink and bolts off a integra type r fit? or it require some form of mod. and what about the lower control arm? I was browsing JHPUSA.com and people say you need to purchsase a reinforcement kit for the subframe when installing swaybar?

99 Si have front swaybar and not the rear correct?

99 Si's should have a 21mm front sway bar and no rear sway. The DC2-R bar will bolt up no problem but you will need to use the rear end links of the 99-00 SiR, at least that what I did. Also, the website is correct in stating that you will need reinforcement for your rear sub frame otherwise you risk subframe tear out. Go for the ASR plate or the Beaks kit if you plan to run the DC2-R bar. Otherwise, go no bigger than the 13mm SiR or 14mm Integra LS rear sway.

if you are on a budget, keep in mind that the ASR and Beaks setup is not cheap...together with the bar itself, you are looking at several hundred dollars (i would estimate $400 or so..Rajiv confirm this if u can).

Your cheaper alternative is to go with an OEM SIR 13mm bar.

The ASR+DC2-R+Bushings+Endlinks was about 300 everything included. Make it 400 (for the labor) if you want someone to the stuff on for you .

Was it worth it though?

I felt that it was, my car handles a lot better. That being said the upgrade was part of an entire suspension overhaul. Nothing was left untouched. Sway bars only do so much. You'll notice a difference but to get the best handling out of your car you need to have some fairly stiff springs.

during regular city driving...i dont think so...but upon taking a hard corner..you will perhaps. sway bars is only a part of suspension however so if you wanna feel a real difference...you car should be lowered on the right shock/spring combo.
