99-00 to 96-98 civic si CAI
ok i have a 97 civic si d16y8
will the 99 civic si assuming its a b16a2 CAI fit my d16? Thanks |
99 Civic Si didn't have a B16, it was a D16 just like your 97.
|
ur serious...i thought they also had a b16....
ooooooooooooooooooooo this looks bad |
The 99-00 SiR has the B16. I can't really imagine that the intake is any different though.
|
ok...well thats good
hey if u wanna delete this so not everyone thinks im a newbie thatd be greeeeeeat ....its just a found a link and it said si and also it was showin 160 so thats what made me believe...anyways i got my answer, thankyou |
doesn't the 96-98 civic d16y8 have the weird intake manifold where the throttle body is vertically placed (like the DPFI manifolds), instead of horizontally placed like the d16z6, d15b7, all the b-series'....i know my buddys is at least.
|
y8 intake manifold are the same as a b16a,etc... I;m pretty sure the intake tube will fit from a b16a to a d16y8. i took an intake tube from an h22 and slap it on my y8 at the time. only the y7 has the trottle body pointing upwards. the y8 are the same as the b series intake manifold the only thing im not sure about is the size of the Throttle body. i know that the intake tube i took from the h22 didnt fit my ITR Throttle body..
|
hmm...weird...i guess i need to check the code on the engine block of my buddys car, maybe its not really a d16y8 and its actually a d16y7.

And as for the SI that the poster looked up rating the SI at 160, that is the US SI that is the equivelant to the CDN SIR |
ooooooook thats what it was...american model
ok so aslong as its not a y7 im good...im sure the guys got a d16y8 but i just generally wanted to know. Thanks. |
Im using a B16a CAI on my D-series. Fits perfect
|
i was also using a my old d16z6 SRI on my b16 for a while...fit fine.
I wanna check out my buddys car a little more, its sort of got a weird history to it, so who knows, maybe someone switched out the engine for a y7. |
Is the Car an SI coupe? Cuz the y8 only came in the si coupe.
|
Honda did make a dx ,ex and hx coupe with the y7 also. As far as i know.

In usa, EX (d16y8) is equiv. to our Si(d16y8)
Si(b16) is equiv to our SiR(b16) |
