97 civic DX dyno

does anyone know what a 1997 civic dx HP should be on wheel?

imported_Mikeye 15-Jul-2005 12:56 AM

Anyone know what a 97 camry would be at the wheel? YES a camry, and YES I am serious! LOL

imported_pk_kk 15-Jul-2005 01:13 AM

And yes i know it's sad to say a 97 camry on wheel has more hp than a civic dx

imported_Mikeye 15-Jul-2005 01:18 AM

camry is heavier too. lol.

And who the hell would do up an automatic camry? that's what grandfathers drives! lol.

My Y7 dynoed 96 whp/90 tq. It was done on a Mustang Dyno, with a 2 year old air filter and a muffler.

Hope that helps.

wernt u embarrassed to dyno thath thing nova dust?

Nova_Dust 15-Jul-2005 11:22 AM

Not at all. The dyno was cheap, it was a fun day out, and I love my car and I want to know where the peak hp/tq is at, to aid me driving on the track.

What should whp be for a DX with:

- intake
- header
- straight pipe
- exhaust

estimate of course.

imported_t_dot_SiR 16-Jul-2005 01:56 AM

not too much... still just roughly 100whp/92tq at most.... stock engine is stock engine, no matter what i/h/e you do... small difference.....

coz i think my y8 would only make around 100whp at most with i/h/e....

The Civic is generally light though maybe at least 2000lbs so 100HP/100lb ft of torque is still quite good. Now it would be flying if you had a turbo bringing it up to 170HP.

:wavey: :wavey: :wavey: These smilies are fun :fight: :goof: :p :marchmell :notfair:

then again with the amount of money your gonna put into a turbo you can get like a sir engine which is 160hp

but still no torque...

100hp is so damn pathetic, even in a 2000lbs car.

Since my H22 im beating around in CXs and DXs and it's a freakin nightmare.. Absolutely gutless merging lanes, switching lanes, whatever. You haven't felt freedom of driving until you've driven a car that can compete with the majority of cars on the road.

its very true.. i has a stock 96 hatch last summer... that was a dog.. now im running a gutted EG with a JDM B16 with cams/gears, IHE with tuned ECU... what a difference... i drove my friends 00 SE sedan the other day and i couldnt believe how slow it was lol

I know what your guy's mean. Going from my EF B16 to my mom's PT cruiser is like Going from a Scapel to a Butterknife. I gunned the Thing after not driving it for a month and It was so slow I thought it was Broken.
