could be the wheel bearing...
but there could also be other causes
get right in there and check everything, check the play of the wheel bearing make sure that your braking system, suspension, tie rod, balljoints arent damaged

but i would check the wheel bearing first
( with the tire still on the car, jack up the car, then try to shift the rim back and forth, if the wheel moves excessively then the bearing is shot and needs to be replaced)

well, if you think you ****ed something in the tranny, remember the tranny is on the passengers side, so first thing is try to listen for where the noises are coming from, but more than likely the car shaking is not the tranny...

honestly, you need to describe the sounds you are hearing and in way more detail what happened...

ok i was driving my tires spun pretty bad and then the next thing i know my car starts to make a kocking noise like constantly at the the same point everytime knock....knock....knock....knock and to me it sounds like it coming from the left side but i oculd be wrong does that help at all??

did you check the wheel bearing?
did you check anything at all?
take it to a mechanic

JiZeR000 18-Jul-2006 05:29 PM

no no n o taking it to a mechanic is a last resort i ahve checked shafts tie robs ball joints all i need to do now is to check the wheel bearing and if it isnt that it has t be the tranny or sumthin

ii don't think the wheel bearing will make a knocking noise... i think i had the wheel bearing go on my ek, so when i swapped in the gsr froint brakes i got diff wheel bearings too and much better brakes... do that if thats what your problem is.

does it make the knocking noise at a certain rev? when the car is under load only? does it make the noise when sitting at 0 km/hr and neutral?
