you need a vtec ecu so you can engage the vtec.
if not you are going to basically have what you had before!

Ummmm dont get the D15B with the 2 vtec solenoids unless you get the proper ecu for it. Its a p2j ecu and they are rare to get in manual but if your going with automatic, there are a couple of places that have them here. Theres another way of doing it but you'll need the D16y8 ecu, intake manifold and the one vtec solenoid and maybe you might want to change the tranny cause those motors came with the cvt transmission.

Oh, the only manual ecu's are 37820-P2J-003 or 37820-P2J-J11 for the 3 stage vtec motor. All the other ones are auto.

i had the same problem... i went around a lot of places and basically no one knew what they were talking about and a lot of them admitted it... when it came to that motor and hooking it up the best way.

luckily the seller took it back and sold me a d16y8 which is a stock replacement for me.

it's also a headache if you ever have to replacement engine parts... you need parts from a zc for some sections and other engine parts for other parts of the d15b.

i found the proper ecu at tiger japanese parts or something like that in markham...

whatever you do, good luck!
