95 Si Starter

Just a question for you guys...
I came outta school today and tried to turn on the car and it wouldn't start, doesn't even make a sound or anything, but you can hear a little click which i'm pretty sure is the rely and the battery is fine I know that......anyways, I brang it to a shopp and they said it was the starter, but they're not 100% sure if it is or not............any ideas of what the problem is?

and one more question.......how many bolts to take off a starter, and if it's easy or not taking out and installing a starter...

thanks

two bolts to take it off, if its just a click to could be ur coil as well. on a scale of 1-10, 1 being easiest starter is like a 2 just a couple nuts to take off and those two bolts that go in the the tranny bellhousing

it could be your battery too, did you boost it?? try boosting it. that click is the relay going, it doesnt mean the battery has enough juice the crank the engine over. I've really never heard of a starter on a Honda failing. though it's possible. I recommend Pisani Bros. on Walker for the work, they do good work there.

read my update post
yes, we tried boosting it and didn't work, so we pushed the car and poped the clutch and it worked, went to the shopp turned the car off and did the same thing, wouldn't start

I probably didnt' explain it better B, the click that it makes you only can hear it when your standing right infront of the engine, it's not the normal, click click click sound that it makes when you try to turn the ignition on......matter a fact when you try to start the car it makes no sound what so ever?

could be ur starter fuse, have you checked all the fuses. i cant explain to you any better where the two bolts are to take the starter off. when your looking at the starter from up above there is one directly on the top and one directly underneath. i belive they are 17mm bolts. then it will slide out
this might help you, on the back of my tranny you can see a hole on the top that is where the starter goes, two bolts top and bottom

More than I can or better yet wish to remember

To find your starter its on your tranny and its about the size of a pop can. Follow the power wires down and it will connect to your starter. As it was said there are two one on each side run your fingers along and you'll find them. Look at the pic above its pretty olbivious.

Before you replace the starter though make sure its it and next time tap your starter with a hammer and then your car will start.

ya, I tried tapping it with a hammer and nothing, so we just pushed it and popped the clutch
