95 Civic Problem

HI

I jus got a stock engine changed with a newer stock jap engine for my 1995 civic 4 door (automatic) as the old one was burning oil. Now the problem that i am experiancing is that acceleration is quite slow and car feels heavier to drive. Each time u want to increase the speed you would have to push the accelerator hard. I have gotten sparkplugs , timing belt, waterpump replaced too. I know a stock civic is slow but now after the engine the car is even slower than b4, even though now i got performance headers and a high flow car with stock piping nd muffler, that im going to change to a 2 1/4 piping with a performance muffler. Is this a timing issue? IF it is how can i solve it. PLease Help

Thanks

Adeel
