93 DX Hatch won't start!
I have a 93 DX hatch that doesn't want to start. I've tried some things already to narrow it down but i'm running out of things to check.
93 DX HB (1.5L) - 180k - Automatic
1. I tested one of the plugs and there was a spark
2. I swapped Ignitors with one that I knew worked before.
3. Changed the fuel filter since its past due.
4. Charged up the battery, and also tried starting it with the "start" feature of my charger
5. It cranks; and turns over...
It sounds like It wants to start. .but it never really does.
The weird thing is that on xmas eve; the car stalled @ an intersection; and didn't want to start up again right away. but I was able to start it up 4hrs later and drive home. The next morning.. it refused to start (and hasn't yet).
Any ideas/guess?
I was going to change the rotor/cap; but if there is a spark doens't that kinda make it pointless?

Also check all of your fuses.

if you do not hear the fuel pump check out the main relay before you replace anything. way cheaper and plus my main relay went on me in cayuga at cscs last summer/fall. it really sucked.
but yeah check the main relay before you replace anything
good luck

I "think" I hear the fuel pump. with the key @ the #2 postion.. there is a zzzzzz for a few seconds... then plunk/clunk sound..
I did replace the ignitor module from my "old" distributor which I know worked a month or so back. I also changed the fuel filter just because it was past due.
New information: girlfriend took the car in and change the oil the day before and put in 10w30 instead of the regular 5w30?? too thick for winter?
So plan off action for this weekend is.
1. pull the main relay and have a look @ it
2. remove the fuel rail. .and see if there is fuel coming out of it with the key on?
3. Maybe change the oil and put in 5w30?

I talked to a friend who is a mechanic; and he said the 10w oil won't make a difference.
I've been busy since and havent' done anything other then swap plug wires with my sedan - and still won't start.
I'm positive i can smell fuel after cranking it a few times so there is fuel getting to the engine.
I'll have to see how thing go this weekend (chinese new years and all) - odds are I won't get a chance to the week after.
